cinamtic genius

The movie grabbed my attention right from the start, and never let go. Initially, it's the differences of this future world that intrigue. Then, when the action starts, what I found really surprising was the freshness of direction that made me react to bullets and violence as if I'd never seen them in a movie before. If the script wasn't so wonderfully leavened with wit, it would be a grim and scary movie at times. The general mood was tranquil and slow this reflected the circumstances at that time in the film. In the first 10 minutes of the film it made me want to carry on as I knew there was something interesting to discover. Going back to the very start of the film, the breaking news report griped the audience to start off with then the explosion allowed things to heat up more Finally, the whole thing is lit brilliantly, from the real dim English days to the atmospheric ending.

phone hacking

Media

I believe that celebrities should not condole with phone hacking because it is very confidential to be interfering with peoples lives The media should respect the fact  that celebrities are also humans and that their personal life should be kept out of the media. If journalists continue to send report in the media then compensation should be given to those whom it concerns. Even though they put there life stories out there for the public to see its still unacceptable for interfering with their personal life.

miss pretsell

In my opinion i think that twittamentary should be carried out to educate people about the growth of twitter and the positive aspects it may carry.it would also be good for people to understand the growth of social media.twitter is a brilliant invention and it would be good for Siok to to tell her story to the world so that they know the whole concept of twitter.

another reason why i think it good for  Aiok should make twittaamentry is because most people learn more about the Internet form twitter and it enhances people a lot more than other social networking sites.twitter is always resilient  and people always make their way through twitter o matter what. The documentary will be ideal for people who want to see where twitter is going,Aiok said that twitters will always hold on to twitter as it is a good experience meeting new people.this is a good reason why the documentary should be followed up as it builds up society and our social skills.

start of media

In my very first lesson of media studies AS ,we started off by watching the google chrome advert .We then was told to write down 10 simple things that came into our heads as we were watching it.i came up with deceptive, money, fame, powers of the Internet, good music, entertaining, hard work, editing, fun and supportive. http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=0cKpvwlSGOI

we then started talking about media studies as a whole and what we as A level students should gain from this
1) media studies is both arts and science
2) its about your options
3) looking and listening
4) responding and commenting
5) finding and proving

our next step was to look at how the media re- presents the world to us
in this part we discussed how the media takes something and represents it in the way they want us to see it.the media "mediates" how we view the world and also in many ways dictate to us if we respond positively or negatively to different types of stereotypes.

we then overlooked what is expected of a media student and these were the key things we found .
A media student will distance themselves from emotional involvement in a text and rather focus on how on how it creates it's effect o the audience.
Our main task is to decode a media text and search for the meaning behind it.
Another way to distance our analysis is to break down the elements of a text into signs.
Also as a media student we need to know the denotations and connotations of a set text.

At the end of our lesson we went off in groups where we were given either language or institution. In my group we were given institution so we had to watch the chrome advert again and name all the institutions we found.we then had to discuss what part they played to this advert.

i really liked my first lesson of media

print advert

In this advert we as the audience can clearly tell that this fragrance is for women, the bright colours connotate feminity and women hood.the camera angle gives the women a suductive look and adding to that is her bare chest ,which could be used to attract male audiences.the composition of this print advert is well structured as all the colours fit in well with what the advert is trying to convey. The bottle is well designed as it is what is being avertised ,the birght gold colour gives it a rich look. The woman is wearing black this connotes power and authorty. over all the colours are vibrant and gives a trendy feeling..

media key concepts

Teenage Representation

Traditional  teenage gender roles are become more blurred as society changes and Ideology moves on.  The traditional stereotype of the teenage boy was one of the rebel, the teenage thug and gangster which as highlighted in the film Cosh boy  1953.  This was the first film to be given a X certificate  and was based on a true story.from then on the media has painted a bad picture for teenagers.even today TV shows create a very general picture on teenage life. For example in Geordie shore the cast members are shown as drunken low life teenagers falling out of a club at 2am in the morning. This gives viewers a chance to stereotype teenagers from Geordie even when they haven't gotten a chance to meet them.this patten in the media is on going and creates a very strong gap in society as teenagers are often marginalised.
it can be argue that we need fun insecure teenagers masking their lack of confidence with nonstop boasting about their sexual powers, but calling it a reality show and editing it to make it look genuine makes it easier for people to make wrong judgments.
