Teenage Representation

Traditional  teenage gender roles are become more blurred as society changes and Ideology moves on.  The traditional stereotype of the teenage boy was one of the rebel, the teenage thug and gangster which as highlighted in the film Cosh boy  1953.  This was the first film to be given a X certificate  and was based on a true story.from then on the media has painted a bad picture for teenagers.even today TV shows create a very general picture on teenage life. For example in Geordie shore the cast members are shown as drunken low life teenagers falling out of a club at 2am in the morning. This gives viewers a chance to stereotype teenagers from Geordie even when they haven't gotten a chance to meet them.this patten in the media is on going and creates a very strong gap in society as teenagers are often marginalised.
it can be argue that we need fun insecure teenagers masking their lack of confidence with nonstop boasting about their sexual powers, but calling it a reality show and editing it to make it look genuine makes it easier for people to make wrong judgments.
