Brick Lane

Family portrayal is a key aspect within the film industry. If there is going to be a movie aimed at a family audience, it has to be clear and consists to avoid any confliction with that target audience. In the movie brick lane family is seen as a key aspect with in this modern society and especially for traditional eastern families who hold a strong passion for family values. The moment when she is taken away from her family be married to her husband that she didn’t know anything about shows us how much family life is important even if it is rushed or unexpected. The characters are all set out as the audience would imagine which is to have the alpha male dad the easy lead the quite child and the unruly daughter. Naturally these are the type’s characters that we will see within in a western family but some change has taken place so that we can see the effect that the western world has had on this family.
The dad’s ideas of family are very strong in his mind but for many reasons can’t quite get them into reality. He is always bringing home new things and new ideas, for example when he brings home the computer it’s just another way for him to interact and build a decent relationship with his daughters. This idea does not work out and in return tells them they cannot use it. The dad is struggling to maintain the traditional principles of discipline when it comes to respect for older people. At the end of the film the dad says he “I don’t belong here I want to go home”. At this very point we see the dad almost begging to keep the family together by letting them go back home to Bangladesh, where the family will restore back their traditional values. The mothers’ role towards the older daughter is very much friend like the closeness is non traditional for a mother but even she has changed her views slightly. The mothers affair is the prominent reason why the family has broken down, she is aware of how dangerous her action are but she still wants to find her place in western world. When the daughter confronts the dad about letting the mum make her own decision that is the point of climax where all is revelled to the dad and the family at this point begins to break up.

Drake take care

The most antisipated album of the year - OVOXO Aubrey Graham didn’t claw his way up through rap game like the legendary moguls before him. He grew up in a posh Toronto neighborhood. He attended an esteemed private academy. He had a bar mitzvah. Compared to the fictional Papa Doc, Drake’s street cred is lacking to say the least. But in reality, he had to grow up just as fast as any other kid who’s innocence was snatched away from them prematurely. His parents divorced when he was three, leaving him to deal with his mother’s debilitating rheumatoid arthritis. Much like Lenny Kravitz, he reconciled with the permanent social handicap of never being black or white enough. That’s where he found his hunger. You don’t need exit wounds or a prison sentence to gain respect — just raw talent — which has aged to a fine cream right before our eyes.

The Tracklist For Drake's New Album "Take Care" Looks Incredibly Promising

Film Overview

The Hollywood studio or film studio is a term used to describe a major entertainment company or large production company that is owned privately it is a institution that produces movies primarily on their own film making territory .the institution avoid the hold up and
A film distribution is a company or a person responsible for making a film. Film distribution is the most ,competitive business of film launching and sustaining films.the films them self are the main reason why cinema   tickets are sold , but its the distributors job to ensure that the product is fairly debuted properly to the public by drawing the widest demographic. This is so that the sales are kept high.

A horizontal integration is the accumulation of a single firm of several firms involved in the same level of production and sharing income at that level. for example A hot dog vendor expanding into selling hamburgers would be an  example of horizontal integration.

A vertical integration is when a company expands its business into areas that are at different levels of the same production path.

rise of the planet of the apes-  The new Hollywood blockbuster 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' may become a all time screen classic. But the controversy starts with British scientists saying that they don't want such action to prevent such a scenario from ever becoming reality.Even though the film has caused a lot of scientist to talk ,this is not the only way that the film has earned the audiences attention. The film also deals with an persistent health issues called Alzheimer which even today needs to be cured for. This real life situation has captured the target audience and a wider demographic which is those who suffer or know someone who suffers from Alzheimer.
many people said it brought to life the world of Avatar and The lord of the rings but in a reality sense. Fox institution has also included in the trailer weta digital which is the digital effects company  for avatar. Also included in the trailer at the end is a web site called apes will rise .com.

promotion of the film was very advance. There where a premiering for the film where people got a chance to see the actor and talk about their experience whilst producing the film.
The Face book page for Rise of the Planet of the Apes is aiming for fan engagement. It’s asking fans to “Like” the page to unlock access to more features. These features include research videos, an iPhone app which are also available in the Apple Store promoting it further.
the film also had a blast on twitter being the trending topic(@apeswillrise) before the day of release using. The studio twitter account, to promote the film ,a different demographic to watch it.
The most major social media promotion for Rise of the Planet of the Apes is its YouTube channel. The page is custom design with real-time updates, it also has  different versions of the trailer.Even after the movies success it still is current and the promotion production is still carrying on. The film is now going to be on DVD and blue -ray including features such as methodology of the apes, deleted scenes, breaking motion capture boundaries , scene break down character concept of art gallery and many more.

 My finding
The rise of the planet apes hit its all time high all across the world. promotion wise it done a very excellent job. There are many web pages promoting the film there are even web pages in countries like Japan and France. Fox company  also teamed up with other institutions such as face book twitter and YouTube where it captured a wider demographic, it also had releases  in over 40 countries.
As I was researching further I found out lots of additional information about the film I  found that the budget was $93,000.000.
Other companies involved with the production twentieth century fox Film corporation, twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Chernin Entertainment, dune entertainment.
The film has made great success and is due to come out on blue - ray and DVD soon.
The research able me to look at the work behind the success. I took from it the main aspects of the film industry and what the institutions have to do so that the film makes achievement. Promotion is a very significant aspect of getting the film to feel thousand.

Media Magazine Conference

Media
The media conference helped me out extensively as I learned that the media industry comes with a whole lot to offer, but also changes the way we think and behave. During the conference one thing I remember them telling us to take away with us is to explore different platforms of media and not to always depend on one type of platform. I have been highly influenced by the director.. his work inspired me to move on  and start thinking about investing in a camera, his struggles and non influential parents made me feel that anything is possible once you put your mind to it.
There also have been many false accusations made blaming the media. The spokes person  from wjec out lined  them to us. Brand uni – TV news crime framed the media by bringing our attention to other things and excluding other factors.

Garth jennings - Garth directed  'Son of Rambow' and  is fairly based on his  childhood experiences of film making with a camera. In one scene he had to show a shed on fire. To do this he waved  a piece of burning paper in front of the lens of the camera, you could aslo hear him say in the back ground that this is brilliant. Garth is also apart of a group called hammer and tongs ,which produce mainly music videos and films but are best known for their talented music videos. The phrase "hammer and tongs" means "with great energy and force

cinamtic genius

The movie grabbed my attention right from the start, and never let go. Initially, it's the differences of this future world that intrigue. Then, when the action starts, what I found really surprising was the freshness of direction that made me react to bullets and violence as if I'd never seen them in a movie before. If the script wasn't so wonderfully leavened with wit, it would be a grim and scary movie at times. The general mood was tranquil and slow this reflected the circumstances at that time in the film. In the first 10 minutes of the film it made me want to carry on as I knew there was something interesting to discover. Going back to the very start of the film, the breaking news report griped the audience to start off with then the explosion allowed things to heat up more Finally, the whole thing is lit brilliantly, from the real dim English days to the atmospheric ending.

phone hacking

Media

I believe that celebrities should not condole with phone hacking because it is very confidential to be interfering with peoples lives The media should respect the fact  that celebrities are also humans and that their personal life should be kept out of the media. If journalists continue to send report in the media then compensation should be given to those whom it concerns. Even though they put there life stories out there for the public to see its still unacceptable for interfering with their personal life.

miss pretsell

In my opinion i think that twittamentary should be carried out to educate people about the growth of twitter and the positive aspects it may carry.it would also be good for people to understand the growth of social media.twitter is a brilliant invention and it would be good for Siok to to tell her story to the world so that they know the whole concept of twitter.

another reason why i think it good for  Aiok should make twittaamentry is because most people learn more about the Internet form twitter and it enhances people a lot more than other social networking sites.twitter is always resilient  and people always make their way through twitter o matter what. The documentary will be ideal for people who want to see where twitter is going,Aiok said that twitters will always hold on to twitter as it is a good experience meeting new people.this is a good reason why the documentary should be followed up as it builds up society and our social skills.

start of media

In my very first lesson of media studies AS ,we started off by watching the google chrome advert .We then was told to write down 10 simple things that came into our heads as we were watching it.i came up with deceptive, money, fame, powers of the Internet, good music, entertaining, hard work, editing, fun and supportive. http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=0cKpvwlSGOI

we then started talking about media studies as a whole and what we as A level students should gain from this
1) media studies is both arts and science
2) its about your options
3) looking and listening
4) responding and commenting
5) finding and proving

our next step was to look at how the media re- presents the world to us
in this part we discussed how the media takes something and represents it in the way they want us to see it.the media "mediates" how we view the world and also in many ways dictate to us if we respond positively or negatively to different types of stereotypes.

we then overlooked what is expected of a media student and these were the key things we found .
A media student will distance themselves from emotional involvement in a text and rather focus on how on how it creates it's effect o the audience.
Our main task is to decode a media text and search for the meaning behind it.
Another way to distance our analysis is to break down the elements of a text into signs.
Also as a media student we need to know the denotations and connotations of a set text.

At the end of our lesson we went off in groups where we were given either language or institution. In my group we were given institution so we had to watch the chrome advert again and name all the institutions we found.we then had to discuss what part they played to this advert.

i really liked my first lesson of media

print advert

In this advert we as the audience can clearly tell that this fragrance is for women, the bright colours connotate feminity and women hood.the camera angle gives the women a suductive look and adding to that is her bare chest ,which could be used to attract male audiences.the composition of this print advert is well structured as all the colours fit in well with what the advert is trying to convey. The bottle is well designed as it is what is being avertised ,the birght gold colour gives it a rich look. The woman is wearing black this connotes power and authorty. over all the colours are vibrant and gives a trendy feeling..

media key concepts

Teenage Representation

Traditional  teenage gender roles are become more blurred as society changes and Ideology moves on.  The traditional stereotype of the teenage boy was one of the rebel, the teenage thug and gangster which as highlighted in the film Cosh boy  1953.  This was the first film to be given a X certificate  and was based on a true story.from then on the media has painted a bad picture for teenagers.even today TV shows create a very general picture on teenage life. For example in Geordie shore the cast members are shown as drunken low life teenagers falling out of a club at 2am in the morning. This gives viewers a chance to stereotype teenagers from Geordie even when they haven't gotten a chance to meet them.this patten in the media is on going and creates a very strong gap in society as teenagers are often marginalised.
it can be argue that we need fun insecure teenagers masking their lack of confidence with nonstop boasting about their sexual powers, but calling it a reality show and editing it to make it look genuine makes it easier for people to make wrong judgments.
